As of 2023, I’m a student at Carleton College majoring in Computer Science and Chinese, with a strong academic foundation and a passion for building inclusive, user-friendly technology. I’m deeply interested in software engineering, and I also have a strong appreciation for Chinese language and literature.

With intermediate technical proficiency and hands-on experience, I’ve developed full-stack applications, contributed to open-source software, and supported community-driven tech initiatives. My mission is to leverage technology to improve daily life—especially for underserved populations. From building rideshare apps for students to supporting non-profits through Hack4Impact, my work reflects a drive to solve real-world problems through thoughtful, accessible design.

Fast-forward to today, I’ve had the privilege of interning and working with impactful teams at Carleton College, the Eclipse Foundation, and Hack4Impact. At Hack4Impact, I serve as a Front-End Engineer, developing web and mobile interfaces for nonprofit organizations like Isuroon, which supports Somali women through healthcare access, financial literacy, and leadership development. I collaborate closely with designers and backend developers to ensure clean, accessible, and responsive user experiences using React and JavaScript.

At Carleton College, I’ll soon begin a role as a Digital Scholarship Intern, where I’ll focus on backend web development. In this position, I’ll work on building and maintaining web applications that support academic projects and digital research initiatives—gaining deeper experience with server-side technologies and database integration.

In addition to technical roles, I’m an Advising Fellow with Matriculate, a national nonprofit that empowers high-achieving, low-income high school students to access and succeed in college. In this role, I mentor students through every step of the college application process—offering guidance, encouragement, and practical advice based on my own experiences navigating higher education as a first-generation student.

Currently, my goal is to complete my B.A. and begin a career in software engineering—where I can continue applying technology for good.

Here are a few technologies I’ve been working with recently:

  • Languages: Java, Python, C, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Swift
  • Frameworks & Tools: Figma, React, Flask, PostgreSQL, Vercel
